Used 2023 Acura MDX for Sale nearMarkham, ON

How much does the 2023 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 11.70% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 197 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating.

The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The 2023 Acura MDX stands out as a midsize three-row crossover SUV with a stylish design and a satisfying driving character. It also offers Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, which adds appeal if you want a luxury SUV that feels more engaging than purely utilitarian.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and a cramped third row. It also has an ergonomic design that can be frustrating in day-to-day use.

With 37.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Acura MDX is presented as a modern luxury SUV with appealing design and strong safety ratings, which supports confidence in everyday ownership. Its expert assessment also points to a satisfying driving character and a well-rounded overall package.

The performance notes suggest the vehicle can be enjoyable and capable, but the fuel economy is a weak point. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about living with efficiency and usability compromises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard MDX comes in a base level of specification with available Tech, A-Spec, and Platinum Elite packages, while the MDX Type S is offered in standard spec or with an Ultra package. The base and Tech packages are listed as low in inventory, so feature content can vary a lot by trim.
• Powertrain: The standard MDX uses a 3.5-litre V6, while the Type S uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. The Type S adds performance hardware, but it also weighs more and is less efficient.
• Safety package: The safety suite includes collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed following, and Traffic Jam Assist. Every 2023 Acura MDX in Canada also includes rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Acura’s Digital Precision Cockpit uses a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system also supports Amazon Alexa Built-In.
• Fuel efficiency: The Type S averaged 13.9 litres per 100 kilometres in mixed driving, and 13.8 L/100 km in city driving during testing. The official Natural Resources Canada combined rating is 12.4 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Acura MDX is offered in 6 trim levels: base, Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite, Type S, Type S Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point, but the available information suggests it is not the easiest trim to find. If you want the lowest starting point, it gives you the core MDX experience without the extra equipment of the higher packages.
• Tech: This trim adds more equipment than the base model and is part of the standard MDX lineup, but it is also noted as low in inventory. It makes sense if you want a better-equipped MDX without jumping to the sportier or more luxurious packages.
• A-Spec: This is the de facto starting point in Canada and the best-value choice if you want a sporty-looking MDX. It keeps the model’s appealing design and driving character while avoiding the Type S’s extra cost and compromises.
• Platinum Elite: This trim adds more luxury content and is paired with the head-up display. It suits you if you want a more premium MDX without moving into Type S territory.
• Type S: This is the performance-focused version with the turbocharged V6, SH-AWD, adaptive air suspension, and larger brakes. It is the right pick if you want the most dynamic MDX, but the expert review says it is not the most cohesive or satisfying to drive.
• Type S Ultra: This is the most lavish version, adding quilted leather, open-pore wood, a leather-wrapped dashboard, and more upscale interior treatment. It is for you if you want the fullest luxury presentation and do not mind the price.

Certain trim packages add front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 197 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,382 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $47,382 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,662 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. A model that has already moved down from last year’s average may need stronger condition, mileage, or equipment to stand out later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX safe?

The 2023 Acura MDX earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it also earned four-star protection ratings for the driver and front passenger in the frontal-impact test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety suite includes collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed following capability, and Traffic Jam Assist. Every 2023 Acura MDX in Canada also includes rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Certain trim packages add front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system. The review also notes some false lane-departure alerts and an instance where the vehicle mistook an overhead sign for an obstacle, so you should pay attention to how the driver-assistance systems behave on your test drive.

Should I buy a 2023 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines stylish design, strong safety ratings, and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $42,459 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $47,382 CAD average.
• It brings a fresh redesign and a more assertive new-generation feel.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $52,183 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $47,382 CAD average.
• It adds a new Type S Ultra trim and a more polished, well-rounded luxury focus.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and current-market availability, the 2023 is the sensible pick. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, the 2022 offers a lower entry price, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer trim expansion and can pay more.
