How much does the 2022 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 8.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 119 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.75/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a hybrid-only minivan that keeps the same successful formula from its redesign, so you get efficiency and family practicality in one package. The Sienna’s appeal is continuity: it carries over the standard hybrid powertrain and the roomy, clever cabin layout that make it a strong fit for busy households.

26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Sienna’s hybrid-only setup and carryover redesign point to a proven, familiar formula rather than a risky new experiment. Its standard hybrid powertrain and Toyota’s emphasis on durability support the case for dependable day-to-day use, especially if you want a family vehicle that prioritises efficiency and practicality.

Toyota’s hybrid battery is backed by a 10-year/240,000-kilometre warranty, which adds reassurance for long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the concept and more about finding a well-maintained example with the equipment and configuration you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Sienna?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LE is the most affordable way in, but it has fewer comfort and convenience features than the higher trims. Upper trims add more upscale equipment, larger wheels, and more available technology, so you should compare feature content carefully if you want the best value.
• Powertrain: The Sienna uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid system with two electric motors and 243 horsepower. FWD is standard, AWD is available on most trims, and the AWD system adds a rear electric motor for extra traction.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, Lane Tracing Assist, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring is also standard, along with Toyota’s Star Safety System.
• Infotainment: A 9-inch touchscreen is standard, along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, one USB media port, and six USB charging ports. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 6.6 L/100 km city, 6.5 L/100 km highway, and 6.6 L/100 km combined. AWD models are rated at 6.8 L/100 km city, 6.6 L/100 km highway, and 6.7 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Sienna is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point and the best choice if you want the lowest starting price and the core hybrid Sienna experience. It gives you the standard safety suite, the 9-inch touchscreen, and the practical family-friendly layout without paying for extras you may not need.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience while staying well below the top-end pricing. It also opens the door to more available equipment, making it a smart middle ground for families who want more than the basics.
• XSE: This trim adds a sportier look and more upscale equipment, including available technology upgrades and higher-end audio. It suits you if you want a more distinctive Sienna without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Limited: This is the most premium version, with standard AWD and the most upscale feature set. It makes sense if you want the most fully equipped Sienna and are willing to pay for it.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 and blind spot monitoring are standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Sienna?

• Deal availability: 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 119 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.52% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $45,782 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $47,176 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,572 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. The Sienna’s hybrid-only identity and family-focused practicality should help support demand, especially among shoppers who prioritise efficiency and space.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2022 Sienna was a five-star vehicle according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the 2021 Toyota Sienna received a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), with the nearly identical 2022 model expected to match that result.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over the redesigned hybrid-only formula with no major changes.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $41,564 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $47,176 CAD average.
• It introduced the all-new redesign and standard hybrid powertrain.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $51,326 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $47,176 CAD average.
• It keeps the same practical hybrid focus while leaning into family-friendly usefulness.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the redesigned Sienna’s proven hybrid formula and can find a well-priced example. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value; if you want to spend more for a newer model year, the 2023 is the natural step up.
