Should I buy a 2022 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want a well-liked EV with strong owner satisfaction, a softer price trend, and enough inventory to compare options. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is still worth checking nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2022’s balance of features, demand, and market positioning.
