Is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 5/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The owner feedback highlights its all-wheel drive capability, excellent fuel economy, and strong safety features. It also comes through as a practical choice if you want a compact crossover that is easy to live with and useful in poor weather. Is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and it also describes the Crosstrek as dependable and trouble-free in everyday use. That matters if you want a used vehicle you can count on for commuting, winter driving, and general day-to-day ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is choosing a neglected example, so a careful inspection and service-history review still matter.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage but should still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 214 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.55% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,560 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $25,245 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,605 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum. If you keep the vehicle well maintained, you should be better positioned when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,256 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $25,245 CAD average.
• It adds useful updates while keeping the Crosstrek’s practical, all-wheel-drive character.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and a strong satisfaction signal. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value path because it delivers similar everyday usefulness for less.
