How much does the 2022 Porsche Macan cost?

Is the 2022 Porsche Macan a good car?

With a 3.5/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating, the 2022 Porsche Macan is a strong fit if you want a compact luxury SUV that prioritises driving enjoyment over maximum practicality.

The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out because it drives more like a sports car than a sport/utility vehicle, and its stylish design and premium interior materials reinforce the upscale feel. That said, the back seat is cramped, cargo space is limited, and the infotainment system is unimpressive. For you, that means the Macan makes the most sense if sharp handling and a premium cabin matter more than everyday utility.

With 36.0% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is a decent amount of market flexibility if you are shopping carefully.

Is the 2022 Porsche Macan reliable?

The 2022 Porsche Macan is presented as a well-engineered SUV with German precision and a strong focus on driving quality, and the available expert material says its technologies performed as expected without accuracy, refinement, or sophistication problems.

The performance side is especially reassuring for used buyers because the Macan’s drivetrain and chassis tuning are described as responsive, precise, and competent, with the available all-wheel-drive system and dual-clutch transmission built for confident everyday use. The cabin and controls also suggest a premium, carefully assembled product rather than a stripped-down luxury SUV.

If you are buying used, the main long-term risk is that a performance-focused SUV like this can be expensive to keep satisfying once wear items, options, and maintenance start to matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Porsche Macan?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the Macan base model, Macan T, Macan S, and Macan GTS. The base model is the least powerful, while the Macan T adds a sportier position in the range, the Macan S brings the stronger twin-turbo V6, and the GTS sits at the top with the highest-output engine. If you want the best value, the Macan S is the one to focus on because it adds a major performance step up without going all the way to the top trim.
• Powertrain: The base Macan and Macan T use a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, while the Macan S uses a twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 and the GTS gets a higher-output version of that V6. All versions use a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission and a fully variable all-wheel-drive system.
• Safety package: Every 2022 Macan has lane-departure warning and a reversing camera. Blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, a surround-view camera, and Park Assist are optional, so you should check carefully for the equipment you want.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 10.9-inch touchscreen with Porsche Communication Management, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, and connected services. Android Auto is not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The Macan S test vehicle recorded 13.0 L/100 km, and Porsche lists an official Natural Resources Canada rating of 12.2 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Porsche Macan trim should I buy?

The 2022 Porsche Macan is offered in 4 trim levels: Macan base model, Macan T, Macan S, and Macan GTS.

Here's the short version:

• Macan base model: This is the entry point if you want the Macan experience at the lowest price, but it is also the least powerful version. It suits you if you care more about the badge, the styling, and the standard Porsche feel than outright pace.
• Macan T: This trim adds a sportier position in the range while keeping the four-cylinder engine. It makes sense if you want a more distinctive choice than the base model without jumping to the V6-powered trims.
• Macan S: This is the best-value pick for most shoppers because it brings the twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 and a much stronger performance character. It is the trim to target if you want the Macan’s core appeal in its most balanced form.
• Macan GTS: This is the most powerful version in the lineup, with the highest-output twin-turbo V6. Choose it if you want the most performance-focused Macan and are willing to pay for it.

For safety equipment, remember that lane-departure warning and the reversing camera are standard, while several other driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Porsche Macan?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards patience and comparison shopping more than impulse buying.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 172 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,543 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Porsche Macan's resale value?

The current average of $53,543 CAD sits slightly below last year's $63,304 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Macan has become more attractive to used buyers than it was a year ago. If you are planning to sell later, you should expect the market to reward well-kept examples with desirable equipment, but the softer current pricing means you may not recover as much as an earlier owner might have hoped.

For you as a future seller, the best protection against depreciation is to buy the right trim and keep the vehicle in strong condition. A well-optioned Macan with the right service history should still appeal to shoppers who want Porsche character in a compact SUV.

Is the 2022 Porsche Macan safe?

The 2022 Porsche Macan does not have published crash-test ratings from either IIHS or NHTSA.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2022 Macan in Canada comes with lane-departure warning and a reversing camera, while blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, a surround-view camera, and Park Assist are optional. Most of these technologies were fitted to the test vehicle, though lane-keeping assist was not.

The main safety caveat is that several useful driver-assistance features are not standard, so you should verify the exact equipment on any used example you are considering.

Should I buy a 2022 Porsche Macan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.42% compared with last year.
• It is the year that adds updates to keep the Macan fresh as Porsche prepares an electric replacement, while preserving the model’s sports-car-like driving character.

The bottom line: The 2022 Macan is the right choice if you want the sharpest blend of Porsche style, premium feel, and engaging road manners in this generation. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2022 is the one to target if you want the updated version with strong market softness and a clear performance-first personality.
