How much does the 2022 Porsche Macan cost?

Prices have softened 14.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 156 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Porsche Macan a good car?

With a 3.5/5 user rating and an 7/10 expert rating, the 2022 Porsche Macan is a strong fit if you want a compact SUV that prioritizes driving enjoyment and a premium feel over everyday practicality. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out for its stylish design, fun-to-drive character, and premium interior materials, while the overview also makes clear that it is aimed at buyers who value a more engaging road feel than most utility vehicles provide. The trade-offs are just as clear: the back seat is cramped, cargo space is limited, and the infotainment system is unimpressive.

That balance makes the Macan especially appealing if you care more about a polished cabin and sports-car-like dynamics than maximum utility. With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Porsche Macan reliable?

The 2022 Porsche Macan is presented as a well-engineered SUV with Porsche’s usual emphasis on precision, and the expert evaluation says its technologies performed as expected without accuracy, refinement, or sophistication problems. The performance assessment also reinforces that it is built to deliver quick, responsive driving with strong control and stability.

Porsche’s own positioning for the model leans heavily on performance and a more engaging driving experience, and the expert summary describes it as a compact SUV that drives more like a sports car than a sport/utility. The cost-effectiveness commentary also frames ownership as a choice driven by heritage, feel, and driving character rather than simple value.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that you are buying a performance-focused luxury SUV, so upkeep and ownership costs can be less forgiving than those of a more mainstream compact SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Porsche Macan?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the base model, Macan T, Macan S, and Macan GTS. The base model and Macan T share the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, while the S and GTS move up to stronger V6 power. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment and performance, so it is worth comparing carefully against the higher trims.
• Powertrain: The base Macan and Macan T use a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 261 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The Macan S uses a twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 with 375 hp and 383 lb-ft, while the GTS gets 434 hp and 406 lb-ft. All versions use a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic and all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes lane-departure warning and a reversing camera. Blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, a surround-view camera, and Park Assist are optional. The base setup is fairly limited, so check carefully for the driver-assistance features you want.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 10.9-inch Porsche Communication Management touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, connected services, and available WiFi hotspot access. Android Auto is not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The Macan S test vehicle returned 13.0 L/100 km, and Porsche’s official Natural Resources Canada rating was 12.2 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Porsche Macan trim should I buy?

The 2022 Porsche Macan is offered in 4 trim levels: Macan base model, Macan T, Macan S, and Macan GTS.

Here's the short version:

• Macan base model: This is the entry point, but it still gets the 261-hp turbocharged four-cylinder, all-wheel drive, and the standard 10.9-inch PCM system. It makes sense if you want the Macan experience at the lowest price, but it is also the trim most likely to feel light on equipment relative to the rest of the lineup.
• Macan T: This trim keeps the same 261-hp turbocharged four-cylinder but adds a more distinctive place in the range. It is the better pick if you want the base powertrain with a bit more character and a more complete-feeling package.
• Macan S: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it brings the twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 with 375 hp, plus newly standard Porsche Active Suspension Management adaptive damping air suspension and larger 20-inch wheels. If you want the strongest blend of performance and everyday usability, this is the trim to focus on.
• Macan GTS: This is the performance-focused choice, with the highest-output version of the twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 at 434 hp. Choose it if you want the most aggressive Macan in the range and are willing to pay for it.

For safety equipment, lane-departure warning and the reversing camera are standard, while several other driver-assistance features remain optional across the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Porsche Macan?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 156 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,474 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Porsche Macan's resale value?

The current average of $53,651 CAD sits slightly below last year's $62,662 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Macan has become more accessible for used buyers than it was a year ago. If you buy well now, you may be starting from a more favourable entry point than recent sellers had.

For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale value may be more sensitive to trim, condition, and equipment than before. Well-optioned examples should still hold appeal, but you should expect the market to reward the cleanest and best-equipped listings most strongly.

Is the 2022 Porsche Macan safe?

The 2022 Porsche Macan does not have published crash-test ratings from either NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

In Canada, every 2022 Macan has lane-departure warning and a reversing camera as standard equipment. Blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, a surround-view camera, and Park Assist are optional, and most of those technologies were fitted to the test vehicle except lane-keeping assist.

That means the Macan gives you a useful baseline of safety tech, but you should pay close attention to option content if driver assistance matters to you. If you want a more advanced Porsche safety and assistance package, this model is not the strongest choice.

Should I buy a 2022 Porsche Macan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.
• The 2022 update matters to you because it brings fresh styling details, larger standard wheels, a new centre console, and more power and standard equipment.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the refreshed Macan with stronger standard equipment and a more current feel. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2022 gives you a better balance of updates and market softness.
