Is the 2022 Porsche Cayenne a good car?

The 2022 Porsche Cayenne stands out because it blends genuine performance with the practicality of a midsize SUV. It is also positioned as a desirable luxury vehicle, though that comes with the usual trade-offs of high purchase prices, few standard features, and pricey maintenance.

For 2022, the Cayenne’s third generation had already grown more advanced, with the Platinum Edition add-on bringing extra styling and convenience equipment, plus infotainment updates including Android Auto functionality. Buyers looking for performance-focused equipment could also find features such as Porsche Active Suspension Management, the Sport Chrono package, and all-wheel drive as standard.

29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully without feeling rushed.

Is the 2022 Porsche Cayenne reliable?

The 2022 Porsche Cayenne is described as having a relatively strong reliability reputation, low recall count, and broad range of powertrain choices. It is also noted for sturdy construction, which supports its appeal as a premium used SUV.

At the same time, you should plan for long-term ownership risk because Porsche maintenance and repairs are notoriously expensive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Porsche Cayenne?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and focused.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 123 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $68,245 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Porsche Cayenne's resale value?

The current average of $69,704 CAD sits slightly below last year's $75,912 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled compared with a year ago, which can make the Cayenne more attractive to buyers today. For a future seller, it also means you may face more pressure to price competitively if you want to move the vehicle quickly. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later.

Should I buy a 2022 Porsche Cayenne or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.18% compared with last year.

The bottom line:

The 2022 Cayenne makes sense if you want a luxury SUV that still feels distinctly Porsche and you value the updated equipment and softened pricing. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 is the stronger choice when you want a balanced mix of performance, refinement, and current-market value.
