Used 2022 Nissan Frontier for Sale nearVictoria, BC

How much does the 2022 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 7.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 103 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.66/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its design, comfort, power, roomy cabin, and upgraded interior. That lines up well with its role as a redesigned midsize pickup that feels much more modern while still keeping a familiar truck foundation.

For you, that means the Frontier makes the most sense if you want a capable, distinctive truck with a comfortable cabin and strong everyday appeal. It also stands out as a fresh alternative in a segment full of ageing rivals.

The market shows 32.0% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.66/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with many drivers describing it as a solid upgrade and praising its power and overall durability. The expert assessment also supports that impression by highlighting a strong, capable powertrain and a truck that feels well sorted for regular ownership.

Nissan also includes a useful maintenance perk in the ownership experience, which helps reduce early service friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that reliability opinions are mixed compared with competitors, so a careful inspection and service-history review matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Frontier?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The PRO-4X stands out with off-road-ready details, including charcoal leather seating exclusive to that trim, while the lower trims are more straightforward. The base S also gets the smaller 8-inch touchscreen, so feature gaps are most noticeable there.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.8-litre V6 with 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. It is strong in everyday driving, but the steering is heavier than some rivals and fuel economy is not a strength.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, intelligent forward collision warning, lane departure warning, trailer sway control, rear-door alert, adaptive cruise control, and an easy-fill tire alert. Eight airbags come standard, and traffic sign recognition is available on the PRO-4X.
• Infotainment: The lowest-level S and one-step-up SV trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while the PRO-4X upgrades to a 9-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, but they require a wired connection, and wireless projection is not supported.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 13.7 L/100 km in the city, 10.6 on the highway, and 12.3 combined.

Which 2022 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Frontier is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, PRO-4X.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live with the simpler 8-inch touchscreen and fewer extras.
• SV: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it keeps the Frontier’s core strengths while adding a more balanced equipment mix than the base trim.
• PRO-4X: Choose this if you want the most capability and the most distinctive equipment, including the 9-inch screen, wireless charging, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and the off-road hardware.

The PRO-4X is the trim to focus on if you want the Frontier’s full safety and off-road package, including traffic sign recognition and the available off-road-focused equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Frontier?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 103 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.05% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,481 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $38,481 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,401 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Frontier has become easier to buy than it was a year ago, which can help you as a shopper today. For a future seller, though, it means resale expectations should stay realistic unless the truck is especially well equipped or exceptionally clean.

The good news is that the Frontier’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Trucks with a loyal following and a modernised cabin tend to stay relevant with used buyers, even when prices cool.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.66/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2022 Nissan Frontier has not been crash-tested yet by either NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 comes standard, bringing blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, intelligent forward collision warning, lane departure warning, trailer sway control, rear-door alert, adaptive cruise control, and an easy-fill tire alert. Eight airbags also come standard, and traffic sign recognition is available on the PRO-4X.

The main caveat is that crash-test results were not yet available at the time of evaluation, so you should weigh the standard safety tech alongside the truck’s still-unproven test performance.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.66/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It delivers a redesigned cabin, stronger tech, and real off-road capability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $42,163 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $38,481 CAD average.
• It adds a few more standard features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter buy because it brings the redesigned Frontier experience at a lower average price. If you are willing to pay more for a slightly newer example with a few extra standard features, the 2023 is the secondary path.
