What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The coupe body style is the main differentiator here, with a more dramatic profile and a more exclusive feel than the standard GLE. Inside, the cabin is high-end and high-tech, but the layout can feel complex at first, so make sure you’re comfortable with the controls and interface.
• Powertrain: The AMG GLE 53 Coupe uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-6 with EQ Boost mild-hybrid assistance, plus a SpeedShift nine-speed automatic and AMG Performance 4Matic+ AWD. It’s tuned for strong acceleration and confident all-weather traction.
• Safety package: Mercedes includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, forward automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and Pre Safe Sound. The Intelligent Drive Package adds 13 more driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems, including Active Lane Change Assist and Active Emergency Stop Assist.
• Infotainment: MBUX uses dual 12.3-inch screens, with a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen. Standard equipment includes navigation, satellite radio, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Mercedes Me connected services. Wireless smartphone charging is optional.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the test vehicle should have consumed 12.5 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test result was 12.7 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 239 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.16% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $57,424 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $60,330 CAD sits slightly below last year's $64,986 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favour, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially well equipped or well kept. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside exposure later. Strong equipment and desirable condition should help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE safe?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is based on the standard GLE, which gets top safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Mercedes equips it with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, forward automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and Pre Safe Sound. If you want the fullest safety setup, the Intelligent Drive Package adds 13 more driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems, including Active Lane Change Assist and Active Emergency Stop Assist.

One caveat is that route-based speed adaption can be irritating because it automatically slows the vehicle for certain map-based situations.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The year’s standout is the coupe-style GLE recipe that the expert review says works.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $52,747 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $60,330 CAD average.
• It offers a broad, comfort-and-technology-focused lineup with eight variants.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $67,647 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $60,330 CAD average.
• It adds a subtle refresh and a new plug-in hybrid option.

The bottom line: If you want the distinctive coupe body and current-year pricing that has eased a bit, the 2022 is the cleanest pick. If your priority is lower purchase cost, the 2021 is the value path; if you want newer updates and electrified choice, look to the 2023.
