Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a compact luxury SUV focused on comfort, practicality, and a polished premium feel. In Canada, standard 4Matic all-wheel drive adds year-round confidence, while the well-equipped cabin and broad powertrain range make it easy to match the vehicle to your needs. If you want a smooth, comfortable premium SUV with plenty of equipment and a strong luxury image, this model fits that brief well. 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 GLC is described as having a mixed reputation on the ownership side, and it does not have a standout reliability record. Recent Mercedes-Benz models have also done little to improve the brand’s mid-table standing in independent customer satisfaction and reliability surveys. For used buyers, that means you should pay close attention to service history and be prepared for the possibility of higher long-term ownership costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 375 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.75% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,176 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?

The current average of $38,176 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,300 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale values may face some pressure if the market stays competitive. The GLC’s premium image and broad appeal should still support demand, especially among shoppers who prioritise comfort and equipment. If you keep the vehicle well maintained, it should remain attractive to the next buyer.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,176 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $38,176 CAD average.
• It blends performance, refinement, and comfort with broad appeal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,524 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $38,176 CAD average.
• Its interior upgrades help keep it at the top of the class.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want a well-equipped, comfortable luxury SUV at a softened market price. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the smarter value play; if you want the newer cabin and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the upgrade path.
