Why it stands out
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class stands out because it blends an unmistakable military-grade shape with a thoroughly modern luxury-SUV experience. Mercedes-Benz did not fully redesign the G-Class until 2019, and this generation kept the familiar silhouette while moving to a completely new structure with modern systems, lightweight structural materials, and a much plusher interior. It also gained electric power steering, many driver-assist and safety features developed for other Mercedes models, and the MBUX infotainment system on a flat-panel dash with two 12.3-inch displays. For buyers, that means the G-Class still delivers the rugged presence that made it famous, but with far more refinement and technology than the original truck ever had.
Performance is a major part of the appeal. The G 550 uses a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 with 416 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, while the AMG G 63 raises the stakes with a handcrafted twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 producing 577 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Mercedes says the G 550 can reach 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, and the AMG G 63 does it in 4.5 seconds. Even so, the G-Class remains a serious off-roader, and its appeal is not limited to straight-line speed. It is also offered with extensive luxury features such as a large sunroof, digital instrument clusters, Nappa leather upholstery, Burmester sound systems, and adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring.
There are trade-offs, though, and they are hard to ignore. Fuel economy is poor, with the G 550 rated at 17.9 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 14.4 on the highway, and 16.3 combined, while the G 63 is even thirstier at 19.5 city, 15.5 highway, and 17.7 combined. It is also an expensive vehicle to buy and keep, and the buying guide notes that maintenance costs remain significant once factory warranty coverage ends. Even so, for shoppers who want one of the most recognisable SUVs on the road, plus genuine off-road ability and a deeply upscale cabin, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class has a very clear identity.

I love everything there is to love about this suv. + the value is self worth i feel, the man or woman whom becomes the owner of this luxury suv will of place a more personal value upon it ! And last ,the suv is missing is its future owner! The G wagon stands alone ,a beautiful master piece in its own right .

It was a wonderful car to drive, very well built, fast and luxurious. It was a bit expensive given the year as I have seen other 2022 G63s selling in the $180k range plus this one’s Carfax report showed it was in a minor accident.
