CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA
Summary
With 28 currently listed for sale and an average price of $24,999 CAD, 53.6% of 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA stands out as a compact luxury car that leans heavily into style and technology. It is described as a subtly stylish model, and its appeal comes from combining a premium feel with a comfortable, practical cabin. For buyers who want something upscale without moving into a larger vehicle, that mix of polish and everyday usability is a major part of the CLA’s draw.
It also benefits from a strong equipment list. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, leatherette upholstery, LED headlights, and a range of driver-assistance features such as an active braking system and blind-spot assist. Available extras include a wireless charging pad, Burmester sound system, navigation system, surround view system, heated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, insulated glass, and Digital Light advanced LED headlights. The AMG Line option pack adds bespoke wheels, sport front seats, stainless steel pedals, and AMG interior and exterior features.
There are trade-offs, though. Some versions are expensive, the reliability record is not great, and the car is not especially fun to drive. Even so, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA remains appealing for shoppers who value a premium look, a well-equipped interior, and a comfort-first approach in a compact package.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as a compact luxury car that leans heavily into style and technology, while also offering a premium feel and a comfortable, practical cabin. If you want an upscale small car that prioritises polish and everyday usability, that combination is a major part of its appeal. With 42.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also meaningful market availability for you to shop.
Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA is described as having a reliability record that is not great, even though it offers a strong equipment list and a premium-feeling cabin. For used buyers, that means you should be especially careful about service history and overall condition before committing to a purchase.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA?
This looks like a buyer-friendly market if you are shopping for a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA.
- Deal availability: 42.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?
The current average of $37,608 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,159 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the model has given back a bit of value over the past year, which can matter if you are planning to sell later. If you buy near the lower end of the current range, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation exposure. The CLA's premium positioning and well-equipped cabin can still help it stay attractive to used shoppers who want a compact luxury car with a polished feel.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 42.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.44% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a compact luxury car with a premium feel, strong equipment, and a comfort-first approach, the 2022 CLA is the better fit. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth considering, especially if you are trying to maximise value while still staying in the CLA family.
