CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA
Summary
With 20 currently listed for sale and an average price of $32,900 CAD, 65.0% of 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA stands out as a compact luxury car that leans heavily into style and technology. It is described as a subtly stylish model, and its appeal comes from combining a premium feel with a comfortable, practical cabin. For buyers who want something upscale without moving into a larger vehicle, that mix of polish and everyday usability is a major part of the CLA’s draw.
It also benefits from a strong equipment list. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, leatherette upholstery, LED headlights, and a range of driver-assistance features such as an active braking system and blind-spot assist. Available extras include a wireless charging pad, Burmester sound system, navigation system, surround view system, heated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, insulated glass, and Digital Light advanced LED headlights. The AMG Line option pack adds bespoke wheels, sport front seats, stainless steel pedals, and AMG interior and exterior features.
There are trade-offs, though. Some versions are expensive, the reliability record is not great, and the car is not especially fun to drive. Even so, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA remains appealing for shoppers who value a premium look, a well-equipped interior, and a comfort-first approach in a compact package.

| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $37,826 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $36,302 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $40,917 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $38,855 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −2.65% |

There are 77 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the market.
Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner approval. It is positioned as a compact luxury car that leans heavily into style and technology, with a premium feel and a comfortable, practical cabin. That makes it a good fit if you want an upscale small car that prioritises polish and everyday usability over outright driving excitement. The market also shows 41.6% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA is described as having a reliability record that is not great, so you should approach used examples with a careful inspection and a complete service history. For long-term ownership, that means your risk is more about maintenance and condition than the car’s premium appeal.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA?
This looks like a buyer-friendly market if you are ready to compare listings and move quickly on the right car.
- Deal availability: 41.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 77 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.65% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $36,302 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?
The current average of $37,826 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,855 CAD.
That softer pricing can work in your favour as a buyer, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy at the right price now, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. The CLA’s premium positioning and comfort-first appeal should help it stay attractive to shoppers who want a stylish compact luxury car.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 41.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.65% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a compact luxury car with a premium feel, strong equipment, and a comfort-first personality, the 2022 CLA is the right direction to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and prioritise the best-equipped example at the lowest clean-history price you can find.
