How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class cost?

Prices have softened 11.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class a good car?

Yes — with a 4.5/5 user rating and an expert rating of 7.8/10, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class makes a strong case if you want a compact luxury sedan with a more premium feel than its entry-level positioning might suggest.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Its redesigned cabin and S-Class-inspired design direction help it feel upscale, while the standard 4Matic all-wheel drive in Canada broadens its appeal if you want extra traction without moving up to a larger model. The trade-offs are that the transmission can be irritating and performance is described as sluggish, so you should value comfort, brand prestige, and technology more than outright speed.

36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent pool of attractive options to consider.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is positioned as a premium compact sedan with standard all-wheel drive in Canada, and its expert assessment points to a well-rounded package rather than a bare-bones entry model. Its powertrain is described as sufficiently powerful, and the ride quality is praised as being up to luxury-car standards, which supports the case for dependable day-to-day use.

Mercedes also backs it with a four-year, 80,000-kilometre basic warranty that covers the powertrain, and the model’s standard equipment includes several advanced safety and convenience features. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the transmission and powertrain polish may not feel as refined as the rest of the car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard C300 4Matic already brings LED headlights and taillights, a luxury-focused cabin with a freestanding touchscreen and instrument cluster, and standard MBTex synthetic leather upholstery. Higher-spec examples can add Mercedes Digital Light, Nappa leather seats, and the Burmester audio system, so you should check whether the features you want are included on the specific car you’re considering.
• Powertrain: The C300 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It produces 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, but the power delivery can feel delayed and the transmission can be rough at times.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency brake assist, blind-spot monitoring with safe exit assist, a driver-attention monitor, park assist, Pre-Safe, and Pre-Safe Sound. Optional upgrades include lane-keep assist, evasive steering assist, a 360-degree camera system, dash cam, and two levels of Distronic adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: Even a basic C300 gets a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The MBUX system also supports a Zero Layer layout, and augmented-reality navigation is available.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the C300 at 9.9 L/100 km in city driving, 7.1 L/100 km on the highway, and 8.6 L/100 km combined. In testing, it averaged 9.4 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is offered in 1 trim level: C300 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

The C300 4Matic is the one to focus on because it already includes the core luxury and technology features that define this model year, along with standard all-wheel drive in Canada. It suits you best if you want the C-Class experience without chasing optional extras, and it’s the best-value choice when you’re shopping used.

The standard safety package is strong, so you can prioritise examples with the options you actually want rather than treating the base car as a compromise.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 173 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.90% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,081 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class's resale value?

The current average of $41,081 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,628 CAD.

That price decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong equipment, standard all-wheel drive, and a premium image should still help it remain appealing to used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the most upmarket-feeling C-Class with strong technology and standard AWD, the 2022 is the right path. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years for a lower entry point, but the 2022 stands out for its redesign and premium presentation.
