Used 2022 Kia Seltos for Sale nearSurrey, BC

How much does the 2022 Kia Seltos cost?

Prices have softened 14.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 503 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Seltos earns a 4.83/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, smooth ride, and impressive fuel economy, and they also like the advanced features and easy handling. For shoppers who want a practical small crossover with a spacious cabin, easy-to-use technology, and a strong ownership proposition, that combination fits well. The main trade-offs are the irritating transmission, cheap-feeling interior materials, and noticeable noise.

With 28.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with comfort and smooth everyday use coming through strongly. The expert evaluation also supports that impression by describing the Seltos as a good value with plenty of interior space and a warranty that helps reduce ownership anxiety. Kia’s five-year, 100,000-kilometre warranty and roadside assistance coverage add peace of mind for used buyers.

For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about living with the transmission behaviour, cabin noise, and interior materials over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the only trim without standard all-wheel drive, while the EX, EX Premium, and SX add AWD and more equipment. The cabin is practical and easy to use, but the lower trims miss some of the upgraded features and safety tech found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The LX, EX, and EX Premium use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a CVT, while the SX gets a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The turbo setup is more satisfying and more engaging, but the CVT is the simpler base choice.
• Safety package: Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard. From the EX, you also get forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Assist. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist are reserved for the SX.
• Infotainment: The standard 8-inch touchscreen includes wireless smartphone connectivity. The 10.25-inch system starts on the EX Premium and adds Bluetooth for two devices, navigation, connected services, satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo. On the SX, it pairs with a Bose premium sound system, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require a cable.
• Fuel efficiency: The SX is rated at 8.7 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which 2022 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Seltos is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, EX, EX Premium, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point and the only trim that can be had with front-wheel drive, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Seltos. It still gives you the practical cabin and standard safety basics, but it misses the richer equipment and standard AWD found higher up.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds standard AWD and a stronger safety feature set without jumping all the way to the top model. If you want a balanced mix of value, traction, and equipment, this is the one to focus on.
• EX Premium: This trim is the gateway to the larger 10.25-inch infotainment system and adds more tech appeal. It suits you if you want a more upscale-feeling daily driver without paying for the SX’s extra performance and advanced driver assistance.
• SX: This is the most powerful and most fully equipped version, with the turbocharged engine, DCT, Bose audio, and the most advanced driver-assistance features. It is the right pick if you want the strongest performance and the most complete feature set.

The SX is the only trim with adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 503 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.08% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,292 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $21,292 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,782 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Seltos has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly used market, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s higher average. Strong demand for practical, well-equipped small SUVs should help support interest, especially in trims with better safety and tech.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2022 Kia Seltos earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and it earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in the front-passenger frontal-impact crash test.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips the Seltos with blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard equipment. From the EX trim, you also get forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Assist. If you want adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist, you need the SX.

One caveat is that not every version qualifies for the IIHS recognition because of headlight performance; the EX Premium gets the upgraded headlights, while other versions do not.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a spacious cabin, easy-to-use technology, and a strong warranty.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,503 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $21,292 CAD average.
• It offers a high-quality cabin and strong everyday usability.

The bottom line: If you want the better all-around shopping position, the 2022 is the stronger pick because pricing has eased and the model’s ownership appeal remains high. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the sensible alternative, especially if you find one with the features you want.
