Used 2022 Kia Seltos for Sale nearHalifax, NS

How much does the 2022 Kia Seltos cost?

Prices have softened 13.53% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 494 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Seltos earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, smooth ride, and impressive fuel economy, and they also like the easy-to-use technology and handling. In use, it comes across as a practical small crossover with a strong warranty and a well-rounded everyday character.

The trade-offs are a transmission that can be irritating, interior materials that feel cheap, and a noisy cabin. For you, that means the Seltos makes the most sense if you value comfort, space, and usability more than polish or driving refinement.

With 27.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still enough market value to make shopping worthwhile.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as dependable in everyday use, with comfort, smooth ride quality, and fuel economy that make it easy to count on. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by pointing to a strong warranty and good value for the money.

Kia’s warranty coverage and roadside assistance help reduce ownership risk, but you should still pay close attention to transmission behaviour and cabin noise on a used example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the simplest version, while the EX, EX Premium, and SX add more equipment and, in most cases, standard all-wheel drive. The base trim misses some of the richer features and safety equipment found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The LX, EX, and EX Premium use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a CVT, while the SX gets a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The turbo setup is more satisfying, but the CVT is the simpler choice.
• Safety package: Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while the EX adds forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centring assist. You need the SX for adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity. The 10.25-inch system starts on the EX Premium, and the SX adds a Bose premium sound system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, but the larger system uses a cable connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The SX returned 8.7 L/100 km in combined driving during testing, matching its official Natural Resources Canada rating.

Which 2022 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Seltos is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, EX, EX Premium, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost way into the Seltos, but it is also the most basic version. It suits you best if you mainly want the space, warranty, and core utility without paying for extra equipment.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a meaningful safety upgrade, including forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centring assist. If you want the strongest balance of price and equipment, this is the one to focus on.
• EX Premium: This trim is the step to take if you want the larger 10.25-inch infotainment system and a more upscale tech experience. It also brings the upgraded headlights mentioned in the safety coverage.
• SX: This is the choice if you want the turbocharged engine, the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and the most advanced driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist.

The EX Premium is the trim tied to the upgraded headlights that help it qualify for the stronger safety result.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 494 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.53% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,159 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $21,159 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,468 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make resale a little tougher for current owners in the short term. If you plan to sell later, you should expect value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and equipment level.

The good news is that strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to resell. Well-equipped examples with the right features should remain easier to move than stripped-down versions.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2022 Kia Seltos SX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS, and it earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips the Seltos with blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Rear Occupant Alert, Safe Exit Assist, 911 Connect, and connected-services alerts for speed, curfew, and geofencing. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist are reserved for the SX.

One important caveat is that not every trim gets the same crash-test result, because the better headlight performance is tied to higher equipment levels. That means you should pay close attention to trim choice if safety is a priority.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 brings a strong safety score and a well-rounded mix of space, technology, and value.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,522 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $21,159 CAD average.
• The 2021 focuses on a high-quality cabin and generous standard equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced buy, the 2022 is the safer pick because it combines strong owner satisfaction, a lower market price than last year, and solid safety credentials. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is worth a look, especially if you find one in good condition with the features you want.

How does the 2022 Kia Seltos compare to the 2022 Hyundai Kona?

Our experts score the 2022 Kia Seltos 7.5/10 and the 2022 Hyundai Kona 7.7/10. The Kona has the slight edge on expert scoring and a lower average used price, while the Seltos offers more listings and a stronger deal share. You may prefer the Seltos if you want the roomier-feeling, value-oriented choice, but the Kona looks a bit sharper on paper for efficiency and price.
