How much does the 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD cost?

Prices have softened 6.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD a good car?

Generally — the 4.25/5 user rating points to a truck that satisfies many owners, and the overview backs that up with a clear focus on serious work capability, broad cab, bed, and rear-axle availability, and a more polished feel than many heavy-duty pickups. If you need genuine commercial-grade towing and hauling, the 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD is built around that use case, while still offering enough trim variety to suit buyers who want more comfort and convenience. The market also shows 24.5% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.25/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a truck designed around durability-minded heavy-duty work, with capability and towing technology at the centre of its appeal. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic purpose and more about choosing the right configuration for your needs, since the biggest capability numbers depend on proper equipment and the truck’s size can make everyday use less convenient.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 24.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 102 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.73% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $65,870 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $66,450 CAD sits slightly below last year's $71,246 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more selectively today but may also mean future resale gains are less likely to come from appreciation alone. For a future seller, the current trend points to a truck that still has demand, but one where condition, configuration, and equipment will matter a lot when it comes time to list. Heavy-duty trucks with broad capability tend to hold attention from shoppers who need them for work or towing.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.25/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 24.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.25/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong capability and a more refined feel, the 2022 is a sensible target year to focus on. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you should also compare nearby years and look for the best-equipped truck at the lowest asking price, especially if you can find one near the bottom of the current range.
