Used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearWaterloo, ON

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 16.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 140 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse earns 4.9/5 from owners and 7.2/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, helpful safety features, and powerful engine, and they also call out the large cargo area and comfortable seating. In use, that lines up well with the Traverse’s role as a practical three-row SUV for families who want space and everyday usability without moving up to a larger, truck-based SUV.

The trade-offs are the cheap-feeling cabin materials, the noisy cabin, and the excessive float over uneven pavement. Even so, if you want a roomy, easy-to-use family hauler, the Traverse fits that brief well.

With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value on the market if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centred on the Traverse’s strong engine, spacious cabin, and helpful safety features. The overall impression is that it is a vehicle you can count on for family duty and daily use.

The V6 powertrain is described as well-matched to the Traverse’s size, and the SUV’s predictable handling behaviour adds to its easygoing, confidence-inspiring character. Chevrolet also notes that the Traverse competes well on value, which helps support the case for long-term ownership.

For used buyers, the main risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle’s comfort, noise, and fuel economy trade-offs will suit your needs over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LS starts with a 7-inch touchscreen, while other versions get an 8-inch high-definition display. The RS adds blacked-out trim and 20-inch wheels, while Premier and High Country bring a digital instrumentation panel and more upscale equipment. If you want the best value, the LT and True North sit in the middle of the range without jumping all the way to the pricier trims.
• Powertrain: You get one engine choice: a 3.6-litre V6 with 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It is tuned for everyday family use and towing rather than sporty driving.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. The LS can be optioned with a Safety Package that adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert; those features are standard on other trims. RS, Premier, and High Country add adaptive cruise control, higher-speed automatic emergency braking, and rear pedestrian alert, while Premier and High Country also get the vibrating Safety Alert Seat.
• Infotainment: The Traverse LS uses a 7-inch touchscreen, while other trims get an 8-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth for two smartphones and connected services including a Wi-Fi hotspot. The system can also be had with navigation and SiriusXM 360L, and the voice recognition is described as quick and accurate.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 11.8 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 11.3 L/100 km on the evaluation loop.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, True North, RS, Premier, and High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Traverse’s core space and standard safety tech at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the roomiest possible family SUV and are comfortable with the smaller 7-inch touchscreen and fewer standard convenience features.
• LT: This is the trim to focus on if you want the best balance of equipment and value. It moves you up to the 8-inch touchscreen and can be equipped with more advanced safety features, making it the most sensible choice for many used buyers.
• True North: This trim sits above the LT and is a good fit if you want a more well-equipped Traverse without stepping into the RS or the pricier luxury-oriented trims.
• RS: This is the style-forward choice, with blacked-out trim, dark 20-inch wheels, and a Bose premium sound system. It suits you if you want a more distinctive look and a richer feature set.
• Premier: This is the better pick if you want more comfort and convenience, including the digital instrumentation panel and the Safety Alert Seat. It is a strong choice for buyers who plan to keep the SUV for family road trips and want a more upscale feel.
• High Country: This is the top trim and the one to choose if you want the most premium Traverse experience. It adds the most upscale equipment and is the best fit if you want the most fully featured version available.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all Traverse trim levels, while the LS can be upgraded with an optional Safety Package; the added safety features are standard on all other trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop around and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 140 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.37% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,043 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $33,303 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,819 CAD.

That softer pricing means the Traverse is currently more accessible to used buyers than it was a year ago, which can help move inventory. For a future seller, though, it also suggests you may not recover as much as owners did when prices were higher.

The good news is that the Traverse still has clear family appeal thanks to its space, practicality, and easy-to-use technology. If demand stays steady for roomy three-row SUVs, that should help support resale value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse earns Good ratings in most IIHS categories, but Acceptable in the new side impact test and Poor for its new LED headlights and seatbelt reminders.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all Traverse trim levels, and it includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. A Safety Package is optional on the LS and adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert; those features are standard on all other trims.

If you want more advanced driver assistance, the Traverse does not offer a system that combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist. That is an important limitation to keep in mind if that feature set matters to you.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 brings standard Chevy Safety Assist across the lineup, plus a useful Safety Package on the LS and more advanced safety features on higher trims.

The bottom line:

The 2022 is a smart pick if you want a roomy, practical three-row SUV and you can take advantage of the softer used-market pricing. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep an eye on lower-priced listings near the bottom of the yearly range, because those can represent the best value in this model year.
