Used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale near British Columbia

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 16.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 139 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, large cargo area, powerful engine, and helpful safety features. The Traverse also fits well if you want a three-row SUV that covers everyday family duties without moving up to a larger, truck-based model.

The trade-offs are that the cabin materials can feel cheap, the ride can float too much on uneven pavement, and it can be noisy on the road. Even so, if you value space, usability, and approachable tech over heavy-duty capability, it makes a strong case for itself.

With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market choice for shoppers who want to compare condition and equipment carefully.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, with praise centred on the powertrain, spacious cabin, and helpful features that make it easy to live with over time. The V6 is presented as a good fit for the vehicle’s size, and the overall package is framed as one you can count on for family duty.

Chevrolet also positions the Traverse as straightforward to use and easy to trust, which supports confidence in long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle’s comfort, noise, and material quality match your expectations over the years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LS starts with the essentials, but higher trims add more convenience and comfort. The RS sits above the LS, LT, and True North models, while Premier and High Country bring more upscale equipment. If you want the best-value balance, the RS is the trim that stands out most clearly in the available information.
• Powertrain: You get a single 3.6-litre V6 with 310 horsepower and a 9-speed automatic transmission. It is a good match for the Traverse’s size, and the SUV is set up for towing, snow, and off-road modes rather than multiple engine choices.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all trim levels and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. The LS can be optioned with a Safety Package that adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert; those features are standard on other trims. RS, Premier, and High Country add adaptive cruise control, higher-speed automatic emergency braking, and rear pedestrian alert, while Premier and High Country also get the vibrating Safety Alert Seat.
• Infotainment: The LS uses a 7-inch touchscreen, while other versions get an 8-inch high-definition display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with Bluetooth for two smartphones and connected services. The system can also be paired with navigation, SiriusXM 360L, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 11.3 L/100 km on the evaluation loop.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, True North, RS, Premier, High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Traverse experience at the lowest price. It is the trim to consider if you want the space and practicality first, then plan to add safety equipment selectively.
• LT: This is the sensible step up if you want more equipment without jumping too far up the price ladder. It is also the trim where some of the more advanced safety upgrades can be added.
• True North: This trim sits in the middle of the lineup and broadens your choices if you want a better-equipped Traverse without going all the way to the more premium models.
• RS: This is the best-value pick if you want the most appealing mix of style, equipment, and everyday usability. It adds a more distinctive look, and it is the trim where the available information shows several desirable features coming together.
• Premier: This is the move if you want a more upscale feel and more advanced convenience and safety equipment. It also gets the vibrating Safety Alert Seat.
• High Country: This is the top-end choice if you want the most luxurious Traverse in the lineup and do not mind paying for it.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the range, while the extra safety package is optional on the LS and standard on the other trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 139 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,047 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $33,243 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,605 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a mixed signal for future sellers. On one hand, it means today’s buyers may be getting a better entry point than shoppers had a year ago. On the other hand, it also suggests the market has already adjusted downward, so resale gains may be harder to realise quickly.

If you plan to sell later, condition, trim, and equipment will matter more than ever. Well-kept examples with desirable safety and convenience features should hold buyer interest better than stripped-down or heavily worn ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse earns Good ratings in most IIHS categories, but Acceptable in the new side impact test and Poor for its new LED headlights and seatbelt reminders.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all trim levels and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. The LS can be upgraded with a Safety Package that adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert; those features are standard on the other trims.

If you want more advanced driver assistance, RS, Premier, and High Country add adaptive cruise control, higher-speed automatic emergency braking, and rear pedestrian alert. The Traverse still does not offer a system that combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as a practical three-row SUV for buyers who want space, easy-to-use technology, and everyday usability without moving up to a larger, truck-based SUV.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a smart choice if you want the Traverse’s roomy, family-friendly formula and you like the idea of buying into a softer market. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the broader used market and focus on the best-equipped, best-kept examples rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
