Why it stands out
The 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe stands out as a full-size SUV that blends serious utility with a more modern cabin and stronger technology than earlier versions. Chevrolet redesigned it for the 2021 model year, improving passenger comfort, expanding cargo space, and upgrading technology. It also gained an independent rear suspension for the first time, which lowered the rear floor and helped improve third-row space and comfort. With both rear rows folded flat, maximum cargo volume reaches 3,480 litres, and four-corner air suspension is available.
Powertrain choice is another part of its appeal. The standard engine is a 355-horsepower 5.3-litre V8, while a 420-hp 6.2-litre V8 is available. Chevrolet also offers a 277 hp Duramax turbodiesel 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder that matches the 6.2-litre V8 for torque output while returning significantly better fuel economy. Each engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and when properly equipped, the Tahoe can tow 3,810 kilograms. Inside, the 2022 Tahoe includes a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and access to a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, while the Tahoe LT and higher trims add a standard 12.3-inch digital instrumentation display and the Google built-in infotainment system.
There are a few trade-offs, though. The Tahoe is still a large vehicle, so its size can be a challenge in cities and on trails, and there is not much cargo room behind the third-row seat. Even so, for buyers who want a roomy, capable SUV with strong towing ability and a well-equipped tech package, the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe is a compelling choice.

I love the new Tahoe! My 2018 Tahoe had some bad blind spots but that has been corrected in the newer model.

Rides incredibly smooth- like a Lincoln town car. Also gets great fuel mileage since it’s diesel. At one point I was getting over 30mpg! Awesome as 4WD! Just wish it had ventilated seats.

I am a fan of the Chev Tahoe; however, the new price point for the new Tahoe’s are completely ridiculous and over priced due to the limited available supply! The new definition for price gouging!

If you find a listing below $60,823 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?
The current average of $62,946 CAD sits slightly below last year's $66,693 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be more gradual if the market stays competitive. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on condition, mileage, and equipment to protect value. Strong demand for well-kept full-size SUVs should still support interest from future buyers.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.62% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $53,464 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $62,946 CAD average.
- The redesign brought a bigger step forward in driving dynamics, technology, and innovation.
The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and availability. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2021 is the better value play because it delivers the redesign benefits at a lower entry price.
