What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level GLC 300 includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a power liftgate, synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, dual USB ports, a fully digital instrument panel, and the MBUX infotainment system. If you want more convenience and luxury features, the Premium Package adds navigation with live traffic updates, a 10.2-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, traffic sign assist, a wireless phone charger, and a panoramic sunroof, while the Premium Plus Package adds illuminated door sills, a 360-degree camera, a kick-activated power tailgate, and ambient lighting with 64 colours.
• Powertrain: The GLC 300 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. It also offers Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ drive modes, and the power delivery is described as responsive rather than overly sporty.
• Safety package: To get the best safety tech, Canadians need the Intelligent Drive Package, which includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic cruise control, and lane departure warning. Parking sensors and hands-free parking assist are part of the Premium Plus Package, so base-trim shoppers should check carefully for those features.
• Infotainment: The Premium Package brings the MBUX system with a 10.25-inch centre touchscreen, a centre console touch controller, and advanced voice control that can understand complex commands. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system is designed to be intuitive once you get used to it.
• Fuel efficiency: The base GLC 300 returns fuel consumption figures of 11.3 L/100 km in the city, 8.5 on the highway, and 10.0 combined. In mixed driving, the test vehicle averaged 10.0 L/100 km.

Which 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC is offered in 4 trim levels: GLC 300, GLC 300 Coupe, AMG GLC 43, AMG GLC 43 Coupe.

Here's the short version:

• GLC 300: This is the best-value choice if you want the core GLC experience: a refined ride, strong standard equipment, and the most efficient version of the lineup. It gives you the upscale cabin and everyday comfort that define the model without pushing you into the pricier performance variants.
• GLC 300 Coupe: Choose this only if you care more about style than space, because the coupe body trades usable room for a sharper look. It costs more than the conventional SUV version, so it makes the most sense if the design is your priority.
• AMG GLC 43: This is the step-up pick if you want more power and a more performance-focused feel. It adds a more potent powertrain, 20-inch wheels, adaptive air suspension, and sport seats, so it suits you if you want the GLC to feel quicker and more athletic.
• AMG GLC 43 Coupe: Pick this if you want the AMG 43’s performance with the coupe body style’s styling. It is the most niche choice here, so it makes sense mainly if you want both the extra power and the sleeker shape.

For safety equipment, the Intelligent Drive Package is the key option to look for if you want the GLC’s best driver-assistance features.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 345 listings available.

What is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?

The current average of $34,365 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,595 CAD.

That price decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the GLC more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, it also means you may need to price competitively if you want to move the vehicle quickly. The good news is that the model’s premium image and broad appeal should help support demand, especially for well-equipped examples in strong condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
