How much does the 2021 Kia Telluride cost?

Is the 2021 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — with a 4.89/5 user rating and a 9.33/10 expert rating, the 2021 Kia Telluride comes across as a strong all-rounder. The model scores 10/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its safety features, spacious interior, modern design, advanced technology, and strong value for money. In practical terms, that lines up well with its three-row midsize SUV role: you get family-friendly space, a polished cabin, and the kind of equipment mix that makes it feel more expensive than it is.

Only 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards shoppers who move carefully and compare examples.

Is the 2021 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free enough to earn repeat praise for its safety, value, and everyday usability. The expert assessment also supports that impression by describing it as a cost-effective choice with strong packaging, utility, and overall value.

Kia’s warranty coverage is generous, which can help reduce early ownership anxiety for used buyers. Even so, you should still check service records and overall condition carefully, since long-term ownership risk always depends on how the previous owner maintained the vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Kia Telluride?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The EX is the value pick, while the SX Limited adds premium stitched Nappa leather, a simulated suede headliner, a head-up display, and heated and ventilated front- and second-row seats. The SX Limited Nightsky Edition adds the blacked-out look with gloss black 20-inch wheels and a unique grille insert.
• Powertrain: You get a single powertrain: a 3.8-litre V6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission, 291 horsepower, and 262 lb-ft of torque. It also includes Drive Mode Select with Snow, Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Smart modes, plus AWD with a low-speed Lock function.

Which 2021 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2021 Kia Telluride is offered in 4 trim levels: EX, SX, SX Limited, and SX Limited Nightsky Edition.

Here's the short version:

• EX: This is the best-value choice if you want the Telluride’s core strengths without stretching into luxury pricing. It gives you the standard AWD setup, the full safety suite, and the 10.25-inch infotainment system, which makes it the trim most shoppers should start with.
• SX: This trim adds a 10-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound system and the more upscale equipment expected from a higher-grade Telluride. It suits you if you want a richer cabin experience without going all the way to the top.
• SX Limited: This is the luxury-leaning pick, with premium stitched Nappa leather, a simulated suede headliner, a head-up display, and heated and ventilated front- and second-row seats. It is the right choice if you want the most upscale version of the Telluride.
• SX Limited Nightsky Edition: Choose this if you want the blacked-out appearance package and the exclusive visual treatment that sets it apart. It is the style-first choice in the lineup.

SX trim also gets front parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, and Blind-Spot View Monitor.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Kia Telluride?

The market looks moderately favourable if you are a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 131 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.28% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,241 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $30,335 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,051 CAD.

That drop suggests the Telluride has become more accessible on the used market, which can be good news for you as a buyer. For a future seller, though, it means the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation from its earlier peak.

The upside is that strong demand can help support pricing better than you might expect for a mainstream SUV. If the vehicle remains well maintained and well equipped, it should continue to attract shoppers who value its space, features, and reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2021 Telluride earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it earns four-star frontal-impact ratings for both the driver and front passenger, along with an overall five-star rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes blind-spot warning, lane-maintenance technology with lane-keeping assistance, forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, rear cross-traffic alert, a driver-monitoring system, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Assist.

SX trim adds front parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, and Blind-Spot View Monitor. That means the upper trims give you a more complete parking and visibility package than the lower grades.

Should I buy a 2021 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model year’s standout is the debut of the SX Limited Nightsky Edition, which adds a distinctive blacked-out look.

The bottom line: The 2021 Telluride is a smart choice if you want the model’s strong mix of space, safety, and value without paying the higher prices that often follow the most in-demand examples. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is worth comparing this year against nearby model years and focusing on the best-maintained listing rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
