What is the 2021 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $18,626 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,439 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well below the current average matters more than usual. A lower entry price gives you more cushion against depreciation.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,334 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $18,626 CAD average.
• It offers a redesigned feel with more modern styling and a broader range of powertrain choices.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better pick if you want the current-year market and a decent chance of finding a well-priced listing. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2020 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one with the features and condition you want.
