Is the 2021 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2021 BMW 3 Series earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the exceptional handling, powerful performance, and luxurious interior, and they also frequently mention the safety features and fuel economy. For you, that means this model fits especially well if you want a premium sedan that balances sharp driving dynamics with everyday practicality. The 25.1% share of good or great deals also gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise for the car’s trouble-free feel, strong performance over time, and the confidence it inspires in daily use. Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 BMW 3 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 171 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.92% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,614 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 BMW 3 Series' resale value?

The current average of $32,647 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,830 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at a strong price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. The fact that demand is still supported by a healthy mix of listings and strong owner satisfaction should help the model remain appealing to future shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $33,405 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $32,647 CAD average.
• It offers a well-rounded premium-sedan feel with a particularly impressive M340i.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $35,525 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $32,647 CAD average.
• It adds minor equipment updates while keeping the same polished formula.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and owner satisfaction, the 2021 is the strongest starting point. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2020 is worth a look, but the 2021’s lower average price and strong deal availability make it the more compelling buy for most shoppers.
