Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,441 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,287 CAD average.
• It adds a 2.5-litre engine and upgraded EyeSight driver assistance.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better value if you want the lower average price and a strong satisfaction record. If you want more available equipment and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2020 remains the smarter starting point.
