Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru Crosstrek?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 258 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.30% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,958 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $21,323 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,770 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you're buying now, but it also means future resale expectations should be measured rather than optimistic. If you own one for a few years, the current market suggests there may be less room for appreciation than there was a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,389 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,323 CAD average.
• It adds a more powerful 2.5-litre engine and upgraded EyeSight driver assistance.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and are comfortable with its current market pricing. If you want more power and updated equipment, the 2021 is the better upgrade, but you’ll pay more for it. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2020 remains the smarter starting point.
