How much does the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek cost?

Is the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — the 4.86/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its incredible value, comfortable driving experience, safety features, and fuel economy, which fits well if you want a practical small crossover for daily commuting and adventurous trips. The Crosstrek’s everyday usefulness and all-weather confidence make it especially appealing if you value versatility over outright performance. With 27.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a reliable, dependable, and trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers saying it is a vehicle they can count on for daily use and longer-term ownership. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used crossover that should feel reassuring over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained properly, since any neglected crossover can become more expensive to keep.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru Crosstrek?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 247 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.72% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,950 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $21,613 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,481 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make the Crosstrek easier to purchase now but may also temper near-term resale gains for a future seller. If you buy at the right price, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. The model’s practical appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,132 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,613 CAD average.
• It adds a 2.5-litre engine option and an upgraded EyeSight system.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the stronger buy because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you are willing to spend more for the newer-year updates and a broader powertrain choice, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
