Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru Crosstrek?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 261 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.03% compared with last year.

What is the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $20,857 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,547 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Crosstrek easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. If you plan to resell later, the current discount could help you buy at a more favourable entry point. Strong owner satisfaction can still support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,116 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,857 CAD average.
• It adds a 2.5-litre engine and an upgraded EyeSight system.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the stronger buy because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you want more available power and updated driver assistance, the 2021 is the better secondary path, especially if you are willing to pay more for those upgrades.
