Used 2020 RAM 1500 for Sale nearWaterloo, ON

How much does the 2020 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 12.68% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,713 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 RAM 1500 earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, smooth ride, powerful engine, and spacious interior. That lines up with the truck’s upscale, polished character and makes it appealing if you want a full-size pickup that feels more refined than purely utilitarian.

The main trade-offs are Bluetooth connectivity issues and limited storage, while experts also note that advanced safety features are not standard. If you want a truck that blends comfort, capability, and a premium feel, this model year fits that brief well.

Good and great deals account for 33.4% of listings, which points to a fairly shopper-friendly market.

Is the 2020 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels luxurious, smooth, and easy to live with, which usually matters most when you’re counting on a vehicle day after day. The review summary also highlights a powerful engine and a spacious cabin, both of which support confidence in everyday use.

The EcoDiesel return and the updated powertrain story suggest Ram put real effort into improving durability and drivability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the truck’s equipment and connectivity features have been well maintained and still work properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 RAM 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tradesman starts with steel wheels, vinyl upholstery and flooring, a bench seat, a 6-speaker stereo, a 5-inch touchscreen, push-button ignition, auto headlights, cruise control, air conditioning, a rear-view camera, and heated side mirrors. Big Horn adds fog lights, carpet, tinted windows, and access to upgrades like 20-inch alloys, air suspension, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable pedals, LED lighting, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Laramie adds leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with driver memory, a heated steering wheel, keyless entry, parking sensors, and a 9-speaker stereo. Longhorn adds 20-inch wheels, chrome side steps, auto high beams and wipers, upgraded leather, reclining rear seats with heat and ventilation, navigation, and a spray-in bed liner. Limited adds standard air suspension, premium leather, power-retractable side steps, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: You can get a 3.6-litre V6 with eTorque, a 5.7-litre Hemi V8, or the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6. The V6 is rated at 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque, while the V8 makes 395 hp and 410 lb-ft. The EcoDiesel delivers 260 hp and 480 lb-ft, with strong towing ability and improved efficiency, but it can still feel like a diesel and show turbo lag.
• Safety package: The truck earned a Top Safety Pick Plus from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, but that IIHS result applies only to the Crew Cab with all active safety equipment and optional LED lights. Most safety features are available across the lineup, but parking sensors and forward-collision and lane-departure mitigation are reserved for Laramie and above.
• Infotainment: The 5-inch touchscreen is standard on Tradesman, while the 8.4-inch screen is available on higher trims and the 12-inch tablet-style touchscreen is available on eligible trims. The system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the truck also gets push-button start plus plenty of USB and USB-C ports.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.6-litre V6 can return 12.2 L/100 km city, 9.7 L/100 km highway, and 11.1 combined with 4WD. The 5.7-litre V8 returns 14.2 L/100 km city, 10.9 L/100 km highway, and 12.8 combined with 4WD. The 3.0-litre EcoDiesel is rated at 11.1 L/100 km city, 8.0 L/100 km highway, and 9.7 combined with 4WD.

Which 2020 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2020 RAM 1500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the value-focused starting point if you want the basics done well, including a rear-view camera, push-button start, and a 5-inch touchscreen. It’s the trim to consider if you want capability without paying for luxury extras.
• Big Horn: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it opens the door to the features that make the Ram feel more modern, including the 8.4-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, and available air suspension. If you want the sweet spot between price and comfort, start here.
• Rebel: Choose this if you want the more aggressive off-road-oriented setup, including a lifted suspension, off-road tires, skid plates, tow hooks, and a more rugged appearance. It also gets the diesel engine this year.
• Laramie: This is the comfort-focused step up, with leather, heated and ventilated front seats, parking sensors, and a better stereo. It suits you if you want a more premium daily driver.
• Longhorn: This trim leans into upscale style with more chrome, upgraded leather, rear-seat comfort features, and navigation. It’s for buyers who want luxury-truck character.
• Limited: This is the top luxury choice, adding standard air suspension, premium leather, power-retractable side steps, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. It’s the one to buy if you want the most complete feature set.

Safety features are not standard across the lineup, and the IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus result applies only to the Crew Cab with all active safety equipment and optional LED lights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,713 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,157 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $31,157 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,681 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future buyers but may limit how much value you recover if you sell soon. If prices stay near this level, resale strength will depend more on trim, condition, and equipment than on broad market momentum.

Well-equipped trims with desirable features should hold buyer interest better than stripped-down examples. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2020 RAM 1500 earns a Top Safety Pick Plus from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety package includes features such as blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and available advanced driver aids like adaptive cruise control with forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a self-parking system with a 360-degree camera. However, most advanced safety features are not standard, and some are limited to higher trims.

The IIHS result applies only to the Crew Cab with all active safety equipment and optional LED lights, so you should verify equipment carefully on any used listing.

Should I buy a 2020 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The EcoDiesel returns for every trim, giving you a distinctive diesel option across the lineup.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,672 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $31,157 CAD average.
• It adds the TRX, a high-performance off-road trim with a much more aggressive personality.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, satisfaction, and broad trim choice, the 2020 is the smarter buy. If you’re specifically after the TRX’s performance focus, it makes sense to stretch to 2021; otherwise, price-sensitive shoppers should stay with the 2020.
