Is the 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD reliable?

The owner feedback points to a truck that many people find dependable in day-to-day use, especially when it comes to performance and towing confidence. What is the 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $56,094 CAD sits slightly above last year's $55,018 CAD.

That modest increase suggests the market has remained steady rather than softening. For a future seller, that can be a positive sign because it points to sustained buyer interest in this model year. The current pricing also sits within a relatively tight year-round band, which can help support resale confidence if your truck is well maintained and equipped.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.96% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with a more premium feel, strong owner approval, and a reasonable amount of deal activity, the 2020 is the primary year to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth considering, especially if you can find a cleaner example with lower mileage or a better equipment mix.
