Used 2020 BMW 3 Series for Sale nearSurrey, BC

How much does the 2020 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 11.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 130 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Generally — the 2020 BMW 3 Series earns a 4.14/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating, which points to a strong overall showing for shoppers who want a premium sedan with real driver appeal. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its performance, comfortable interior, and beautiful design, with especially strong feedback around the M340i variant’s power and driving dynamics. The car’s broad appeal comes through clearly in the overview: it is meant to be engaging to drive while still working as an everyday luxury sedan.

The trade-offs are just as clear: the design may not suit everyone, and value for money is a weak point. Even so, the market still shows 28.5% of listings as good or great deals, which helps if you are shopping carefully.

Is the 2020 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.14/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The user feedback also points to a car that many drivers found dependable and trouble-free enough to recommend, especially when they valued its performance and comfort over pure practicality.

The expert notes reinforce that impression by describing the car as a strong, well-sorted daily driver with a robust powertrain and a transmission that suits real-world use. BMW also includes free scheduled maintenance and warranty for the first four years or 80,000 km of ownership, which helps reduce early ownership stress.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about cost and complexity, so a well-documented service history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW 3 Series?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 330i includes BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system in Canada, but it does not include extra-cost metallic paint, while the M340i adds a much more performance-focused character and is described as especially worth the extra money if you can afford it.
• Powertrain: The M340i uses a 3.0-litre turbo inline six-cylinder engine with 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, paired with BMW’s rear-biased xDrive AWD drivetrain and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
• Safety package: To get BMW’s latest advanced driver assistance systems, you need the Advanced Driver Assistance package. The safety features were accurate when used, but smoothness could be inconsistent, and the lane-keeping assist is described as abrupt.
• Infotainment: BMW’s iDrive system includes a touchscreen display, natural voice recognition, gesture control, and the familiar centre-console knob and buttons. Gesture control is optional, and the touchscreen is the easiest way to use the system.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the available test-drive content.

Which 2020 BMW 3 Series trim should I buy?

The 2020 BMW 3 Series is offered in 2 trim levels: 330i and M340i.

Here's the short version:

• 330i: This is the entry point, and it already gives you BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system in Canada. It should suit you if you want the core 3 Series experience and would rather save a few thousand dollars than chase the top performance version.
• M340i: This is the best-value trim if you care most about driving enjoyment. It adds the 3.0-litre turbo inline six-cylinder engine, 382 horsepower, rear-biased xDrive AWD, a rear M Sport differential, M Sport brakes, and the strongest overall performance character in the range.

For safety, the Advanced Driver Assistance package is optional, so check carefully for that equipment if you want the fullest driver-assistance setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW 3 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 130 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,123 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $33,056 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,324 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you are buying now, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. The market has already adjusted downward, so resale strength will depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad price momentum.

A well-kept example with desirable equipment should still attract interest, especially because the 3 Series has strong enthusiast appeal. If you buy at the right price and maintain it properly, you should have a better chance of preserving value when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.14/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 BMW 3 Series safe?

The 2020 BMW 3 Series earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety when equipped with the adaptive full LED headlights.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

To equip the car with BMW’s latest advanced driver assistance systems, you need the Advanced Driver Assistance package. That package adds the brand’s full suite of safety tech, but the expert notes say the features can feel a bit abrupt and not always especially smooth in operation.

The main caveat is that some of the assistance systems are optional rather than standard, so you should verify equipment carefully on any used example you are considering.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.14/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its especially strong driving character, with the M340i singled out as a highlight and the model described as fun to drive, comfortable, and powered by a strong engine.

The bottom line: If you want the most engaging version of this generation’s 3 Series formula, the 2020 model is a strong pick, especially if you can find a well-equipped example at the lower end of the price range. If you are more price-sensitive, the softer market and decent inventory make it worth shopping carefully for a good deal rather than rushing into the first car you see.
