Is the 2020 Audi Q5 a good car?

Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, smooth driving experience, and comfortable interior, and many also highlight its handling and performance. It suits you well if you want a compact luxury SUV with a spacious cabin, a large trunk, and a polished, premium feel rather than a flashy personality. Is the 2020 Audi Q5 reliable?

The available owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with the second-generation Q5 generally regarded as more reliable than the first-generation car. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how the vehicle was equipped, since some features were tied to higher trim levels and can affect long-term ownership costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Audi Q5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 221 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.95% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,804 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $23,904 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,783 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,983 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $23,904 CAD average.
• It adds a plug-in hybrid option for buyers who want electrified driving.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and a broad pool of listings to compare. Consider the 2021 if you specifically want the plug-in hybrid option and are willing to pay more for that added electrified choice. If price matters most, the 2020 is the more compelling buy; if you want the newer powertrain direction, the 2021 is the better fit.
