Which 2020 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Acura RDX is offered in 4 trim levels: base RDX, Tech, A-Spec, and Platinum Elite A-Spec.

Here's the short version:

• base RDX: This is the best-value choice because it already includes a long list of standard equipment, strong safety tech, and the full powertrain. If you want the smartest buy, start here.
• Tech: Choose this if you want more convenience and audio upgrades, including rear-door keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers, navigation with real-time traffic updates, rear USB ports, and Acura’s ELS premium audio system.
• A-Spec: Pick this if you want the sportier look and richer cabin feel, plus ventilated front seats, UltraSuede upholstery, sport pedals, and the 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D sound system.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the most luxurious version, adding 16-way power front seats, heated rear seats, Olive Ash wood trim, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera.

The safety package is strong across the range, with the Tech grade adding front and rear parking sensors and the Platinum Elite A-Spec adding a 360-degree surround-view camera.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Acura RDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 199 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,491 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $29,757 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,113 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favour, which can make the RDX easier to purchase now than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that also means resale expectations should be grounded in the current market rather than last year’s higher average.

Because the model still has strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal, demand should remain reasonably healthy. Even so, the recent price decline means you should expect a more competitive resale environment than before.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Acura RDX safe?

The 2020 Acura RDX was named a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and earned five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety equipment includes front- and side-impact airbags, LATCH child-seat mounting systems, a tire pressure monitoring system, hill-start assist, and a rear-view camera with a washer nozzle. It also comes with lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, road-departure mitigation, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow.

The Tech grade adds front and rear parking sensors, while the Platinum Elite A-Spec adds a 360-degree surround-view camera. That said, the infotainment interface remains the main usability caveat, even though the safety hardware itself is strong.

Should I buy a 2020 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the same well-established package, with strong value, space, and safety tech.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,681 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $29,757 CAD average.
• It adds a refreshed emphasis on broader appeal and stronger owner praise.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better pick if you want the strongest value and a proven package at a lower price. If you are willing to pay more for the next model year, the 2021 may be worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2020.
