How much does the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta cost?

Prices have softened 13.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 245 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, safety, spacious interior, smooth driving experience, and impressive gas mileage. That lines up well if you want a practical compact sedan with a straightforward four-door layout and a generous standard equipment list. With 26.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many people find dependable, with praise for its trouble-free day-to-day use, smooth driving experience, and overall value. That said, the model year’s reliability record is not especially strong, and early models can suffer from transmission problems. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth checking carefully before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volkswagen Jetta?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 245 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,044 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

The current average of $15,270 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,563 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you own one, the softer pricing trend means resale value is being shaped more by condition, mileage, and equipment than by broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still attract interest, especially if they present as clean, practical, and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better pick if you want a well-equipped compact sedan with strong owner approval and a market that has become more buyer-friendly. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than the newest badge alone.
