How much does the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta cost?

There are 237 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta earns a 4.89/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, spacious interior, and smooth driving experience, and many also like its safety and performance balance. It fits well if you want a practical compact sedan with a straightforward four-door layout, a solid-feeling cabin, and a generous standard equipment list. With 26.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to a dependable everyday experience, with many drivers describing the car as smooth, trouble-free, and a good long-term value. That said, the model’s reliability record is not especially strong, and early examples can have transmission problems, so you should pay close attention to service history and test-drive behaviour.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a lower purchase price can be offset by repair exposure if the transmission or related components have not been well maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volkswagen Jetta?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 237 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.02% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,044 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

The current average of $15,192 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,668 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably today but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The Jetta’s broad appeal as a practical, value-focused compact sedan should help keep it relevant with used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want a well-equipped compact sedan with strong owner approval and a market that currently favours careful shoppers. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2019 is a sensible primary target when you find a clean example at the right price.
