Should I buy a 2019 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,186 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,657 CAD average.
• It adds an electric powertrain option for greener driving.

The bottom line: Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are focused on the classic MINI formula of style and driving fun. Consider the 2020 if you are willing to pay more for the added electric option and a slightly newer model-year alternative. For most price-sensitive buyers, the 2019 is the smarter starting point.
