Is the 2019 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Hyundai Tucson earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Drivers commonly praise its spacious interior, great handling, and good value for money. The updated features and added luxury amenities also come through as recurring positives, especially if you want a compact SUV that feels practical and well equipped. Based on the overview, it suits you well if you want everyday usability, available all-wheel drive, and a value-focused package rather than a performance-first SUV.

With 27.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers highlighting a trouble-free feel, strong value, and the kind of practicality that makes it easy to count on day to day. That said, some owners mention the standard engine’s limited power and less impressive fuel mileage, so the main long-term trade-off is more about performance and efficiency than basic dependability.

For used buyers, that means the bigger risk is choosing a trim or example that does not match your expectations for power and running costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Tucson?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 453 listings available.

If you find a listing below $16,409 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $16,466 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,903 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the Tucson has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you are buying now and planning to sell later. If prices stabilise, future resale losses may be more gradual than they were over the past year. The model’s broad appeal and practical reputation should help support demand, especially among shoppers looking for a well-equipped compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-equipped compact SUV with strong value, the 2019 Tucson is the sensible choice. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth a look, but the 2019 remains the better-balanced pick for most shoppers.
