How much does the 2019 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices have softened 6.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 158 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Ford Mustang earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its power, style, comfortable ride, and enjoyable handling. That lines up well with the Mustang Bullitt’s use case as a special-edition muscle car that leans into performance and distinctive styling, while still being approachable for everyday driving.

With 27.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2019 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter to enthusiasts: strong power delivery, enjoyable driving character, and a comfortable ride. The expert assessment also reinforces that this is a well-sorted performance car rather than a fragile special edition, with modern hardware and a usable, forgiving driving experience.

The Bullitt also includes features that help reduce ownership friction, including a blind-spot monitoring safety feature, a driver memory system, and voice-activated touchscreen navigation on the tested example.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is still a high-performance V8 sports car, so maintenance and wear items may cost more than on a mainstream car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Mustang?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Bullitt stands apart with its Highland Green paint, blacked-out grille, unique badging, chrome trim, cue-ball shifter, digital gauges, and Bullitt-specific 19-inch aluminium wheels. It is a special-edition Mustang with a more exclusive look and feel than the standard car.
• Powertrain: This version uses a nearly 500-hp V8 with a six-speed manual transmission, plus a special exhaust and the intake from the Mustang Shelby GT350. It is built for strong performance rather than efficiency.
• Safety package: The Bullitt Electronics Package adds blind-spot monitoring, a Bang & Olufsen stereo, a driver memory system, and voice-activated touchscreen navigation.
• Infotainment: The car gets Sync 3 infotainment, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, a rearview camera, and standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: Estimates of 16.1 L/100 km in the city and 9.9 L/100 km on the highway are stated for this model.

Which 2019 Ford Mustang trim should I buy?

The 2019 Ford Mustang is offered in 1 trim level: Bullitt.

Here's the short version:

The Bullitt is the clear choice here because this model year is presented as a special-edition Mustang rather than a broad trim walk. It adds distinctive styling, extra power, and a more exclusive character, so it suits you best if you want the most memorable version of the 2019 Mustang rather than the most basic one.

The Bullitt also comes standard with the Performance Pack, and the available Bullitt Electronics Package adds useful convenience and safety features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Mustang?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 158 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,852 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $28,945 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,812 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for sellers to command top dollar right away. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you may need to price competitively to stand out.

The Bullitt’s special-edition appeal can help support demand, especially among shoppers who value its styling and performance story. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Ford Mustang safe?

The 2019 Ford Mustang earns five-star ratings in every category from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded it an Acceptable rating for the driver’s side small overlap test and a Marginal rating for the child safety latches.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Bullitt also benefits from improved braking versus the standard Mustang, stopping several metres sooner from highway speed. Standard equipment includes a rearview camera, and the Bullitt Electronics Package adds blind-spot monitoring.

The main caveat is the IIHS result for the child safety latches, which is weaker than the rest of the safety picture.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The Bullitt special edition adds exclusivity, extra power, and distinctive styling.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $25,577 CAD, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $28,945 CAD average.
• It feels more polished and sophisticated than before.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $38,445 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $28,945 CAD average.
• It offers multiple powertrain choices and strong value for money.

The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive and enthusiast-focused version of this model year, the 2019 Bullitt is the primary path. If your priority is lower purchase price, the 2018 is the better value-oriented alternative.
