CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Ford Mustang
overall

Summary
With 16 currently listed for sale and an average price of $27,140 CAD, 18.8% of 2019 Ford Mustang listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Ford Mustang 4.86 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8 / 10.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt stands out as a special-edition take on an already iconic nameplate, created for the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest car movies ever made. Ford gives it extra style, extra power, and extra attitude, and the result is a Mustang that leans heavily into its movie connection while still feeling like a serious performance car.
This version is based on a Mustang GT Premium coupe with the Performance Pack, and it adds mostly cosmetic changes such as logo and spoiler deletes, a blacked-out grille, unique Bullitt badging, chrome trim, a cue-ball shifter, digital gauges, and Bullitt-specific 19-inch aluminium wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tyres. It also wears the Highland Green paint job associated with McQueen’s car. Beyond the appearance changes, the Bullitt gets a special exhaust and the intake from the Mustang Shelby GT350, which brings a 20-horsepower boost and an extra 12 kilometres per hour on the top end.
For buyers, that mix of heritage, visual restraint, and added performance is the main appeal. Owners also praise the 2019 Ford Mustang for its power, style, comfortable ride, and fun handling. The main drawback noted in the user feedback is limited back seat space, so it is best suited to drivers who value character and performance more than rear-seat practicality.

The ford mustang has been and will always be the go-to American muscle car. However, the convertible EcoBoost diverges from this trend and created its own market of enthusiasts. The premium package provides numerous safety packages creating a more luxurious feel to the interior while maintaining a sporty exterior. The 2019 EcoBoost convertible is a car that can give you a fun Sunday drive but also take you to work the next day without any hassle. The mpg is by far one of the most unusual features provided specifically from the EcoBoost series and somehow still creates a feeling of high torque and good horsepower through the turbo in the car. Altogether, the mustang EcoBoost convertible is a fantastic starter car for new mustang enthusiasts who want a sports car for a daily driver. I highly recommend this vehicle.

The current average of $30,288 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,330 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can work in your favour if you are buying now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale values to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is equipped. Special-edition appeal can help keep interest strong, especially for buyers who want a Mustang with a more distinctive story.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2019 Ford Mustang safe?
The 2019 Ford Mustang earns five-star ratings in every category from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded it an Acceptable rating for the driver’s side small overlap test and a Marginal rating for the child safety latches.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The Bullitt’s safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring when equipped with the Bullitt Electronics Package, plus a rearview camera, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and voice-activated navigation. The expert review also notes that braking is improved over the standard Mustang, with the Bullitt stopping several metres sooner from highway speed.
The IIHS results include caveats, so you should pay close attention to the condition and equipment level of any used example you consider.
Should I buy a 2019 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.33% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It adds Bullitt exclusivity, extra power, and a heritage-focused special-edition character.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $26,118 CAD, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $30,288 CAD average.
- It feels more sophisticated while broadening the Mustang’s appeal beyond the usual rivals.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $35,300 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $30,288 CAD average.
- It keeps the Mustang’s performance focus while offering broad powertrain appeal.
The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive and emotionally appealing version of this model year, the 2019 Bullitt is the one to target. If your priority is lower purchase price, the 2018 is the better value path; if you want to spend more for a newer-year alternative, the 2020 is the next step up.
