2019 Chevrolet Impala

Back in the ‘60s, the Chevrolet Impala was the best-selling automobile in the United States. Today’s tenth generation Impala, which came out in 2014, lives in a very different world. Tastes have shifted to SUVs and there’s a lot more competition from abroad. Perhaps as a result, it goes into 2019 with only a handful of changes. These changes include expanded availability of a black cloth/synthetic leather interior combination and fewer exterior colors available. The 2019 Chevy Impala is available in LS, LT, and Premier trims.
The Base LS Impala, as well as the LT model, is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 197 horsepower, manages 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined, and comes with active noise cancellation to keep things from getting too buzzy in the cabin. The Premier model gets a much punchier V-6 that makes 305 hp and manages 19 mpg city, 28 highway, and 22 combined between fill-ups. The only available transmission is a 6-speed automatic. The Impala is front-wheel drive (FWD) only.
For 2018, Chevrolet upgraded the upholstery of the base LS trim; it no longer has cloth only, but a cloth and synthetic leather combination instead. All Impala models also get a motorized 8.0-inch touchscreen over a hidden storage bin and a huge center console. There are also additional handy bins and cubbies for storage. The LT model adds remote start and LED running lights, while the range-topping Impala Premier gets leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, a better Bose stereo, a sunroof, navigation, 19-inch wheels, and wireless-device charging. A power-adjustable steering wheel and ventilated seats are other available extras. Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Trunk space is a decent 18.8 cubic feet, which is a bit shy of the rival Ford Taurus, and four to five adults will fit in the passenger area just fine.
The 2018 Chevy Impala earned top Good results in most Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash tests, but it doesn’t get Top Safety Pick status, thanks to its score in the tricky small overlap test. Given how few changes Chevy made to the 2019 Impala, these ratings are expected to carry over. The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), meanwhile, gives the 2019 five out of five stars overall. A reversing camera was made standard for 2018 -- and the 2019 Impala can have adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, and blind-spot monitors as additional features. There aren’t many lower-priced full-size sedans on the market anymore, so while the Impala does look and feel a bit dated in spots, there isn’t much competition.

Review
by Guru9TFSKSThe car is a good value. Too few color choices. Compares somewhat to Toyota Avelon except the Toyota is more expensive but comes with more features. Hard to find a US full size sedan since Detroit seems to have surrendered that segment of the auto market to foreign competition. -

by Guru9TSCDGThe chevy Impala is a great car. Go with the v6 if you can great features, roomy, love the styling of it aggressive looking for family truckster. I love my impala! -

by Guru9WDDWHI absolutely love this car. The look, how it drives, the acceleration, and of course the reliability of a Chevy. It a a v6 engine not a 4 cylinder turbo. Its comfortable and has a great sound system. Similar to the chevy malibu but they dont come with the v6.
