CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Acura RDX
Summary
With 11 currently listed for sale and an average price of $27,700 CAD, 36.4% of 2019 Acura RDX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Acura RDX 4.42 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Acura RDX stands out because it marked a clear return to the brand’s sportier roots while still aiming to be a practical luxury SUV. It brought back a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine rated at 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and Acura’s torque-vectoring SH-AWD system. That combination gave the RDX a more energetic character than the more comfort-focused direction Acura had taken before, and the all-wheel-drive system was designed to improve handling by sending power where it was needed.
It also arrived with a strong equipment list and a cabin that was meant to feel upscale without losing everyday usefulness. Acura’s Integrated Dynamics System was new for 2019, with Snow, Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ modes, and the RDX offered a wide spread of trims and features, from a panoramic sunroof and dual-zone automatic climate control to navigation, ventilated front seats, a hands-free power liftgate, and a surround-view camera on higher versions. Cargo space was another strength, with up to 2,260 litres available with the rear seats folded, although that figure required moving the front seats all the way forward, and a more realistic 1,668 litres was available with the front seats left in a normal position.
The main drawback was the infotainment system. Acura’s True Touchpad Interface debuted in the 2019 RDX on a 10.2-inch display, and while it was an improvement over older systems, it was not especially intuitive. Even so, the 2019 Acura RDX remained appealing because it blended sharp handling, strong performance, useful cargo capacity, and a well-equipped interior in a way that made it feel more distinctive than a typical compact luxury crossover.

For a 2019, this SUV has great features and feels truly like a luxury vehicle.

Firstly, the 2019 RDX has become one of my favourite SUVs available for multiple reasons. It has all the main features included in present-day vehicles such as; lane assist, crash detection, blindspot assist, etc. Apple CarPlay integration is huge for an Apple-dominant home and it plays music almost perfectly through the ELS STUDIO 3D sound system. Secondly, the drivability of the RDX is great; its comfortable and works its way up into a sporty drive when switching the drive modes. Living in Canada means harsh winters and the SH-AWD gives my Lady and I confidence in every condition when equipped with good winter tires. I thought the RDX was a bit pricey when we picked up the car in 2021 but now owning the car for a couple of years, I think we made the right choice. It still has a great road presence because its aesthetically aggressive and sharp. Panoramic Roof, the front grille and the jewel lights are my favourite visual parts of this design. Couple things I would love to have though: HUD, Wireless CarPlay, Eco Mode (Not Automatic Engine Off). The reason I am not giving this platform a 5-star rating is because of the issues Ive faced in ownership. Ive had one recall involving the fuel system which wasnt bad but the timing was horrible. My glorious panoramic roof occasionally pops when the vehicle body endures bumps or uneven road surfaces. This one is big; the rearview glass is notorious for shattering because of a faulty design from the manufacturer. I was really hoping Acura would recall these beautiful SUVs and correct the error but that isnt the case as yet. Even with newer models, the problems seem to persist so be ready for this. Even with these problems, I believe this still holds the title of my favourite SUV. Might even upgrade to a newer model but Im more attracted to the 2019s sharper lines compared to the 2022s facelift smoother look. Id say amongst its competitors; BMW X4, X5, Lexus RX, Mercedes GLC, etc Id still opted to choose the Acura.

This car is comfortable and quick! Best ride of all the small SUVs I test drove. Fun to drive and feels very safe. Was surprised the ‘technology’ package does not have navigation-you have to utilize through your phone, which I haven’t quite figured out.

How much does the 2019 Acura RDX cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $27,253 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $27,253 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $30,234 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $29,459 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.49% |
Prices have softened 7.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 176 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2019 Acura RDX a good car?
Generally — the 4.42/5 user rating points to a well-liked luxury SUV. Owners consistently praise its stylish design, comfort, and performance, and many appreciate the powerful turbo engine and quiet ride. The RDX also fits well if you want a practical compact luxury SUV with a rich interior and everyday usability. With 30.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.
Is the 2019 Acura RDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.42/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centred on comfort, performance, and overall satisfaction. That said, the infotainment system is a recurring frustration, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is more about day-to-day usability than major confidence in the vehicle itself.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura RDX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.
- Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 176 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.49% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $27,253 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Acura RDX's resale value?
The current average of $27,253 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,459 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if prices stay soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend favours buyers more than sellers, so your best protection is choosing a well-kept example with strong equipment and clean history. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.42/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Acura RDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.49% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.42/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $30,126 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $27,253 CAD average.
- It adds more content at a lower price than some rivals.
The bottom line:
The 2019 is the better pick if you want the strongest value and are comfortable shopping the used market carefully. If you can stretch for the 2020, it may be worth it for shoppers who want a newer model year and are willing to pay more for it; otherwise, the 2019 remains the smarter price-sensitive choice.
