The current range still suggests the model holds a fairly stable value band, which can help limit depreciation swings. Strong owner satisfaction should also support demand when you eventually sell.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $26,668 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $21,316 CAD average.
• It adds bolder styling and a more rugged, upscale feel.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the better value if you want a practical, well-liked compact SUV at a lower price. If you can stretch your budget and want newer styling and a more modern presence, the 2019 is the stronger upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2018 remains the smarter buy.
