How much does the 2018 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have softened 7.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 422 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its safety features, spaciousness, reliability, handling, and value for money. That fits the RAV4’s role as a practical compact SUV for you if you want something easy to live with, family-friendly, and focused on usefulness over excitement. With 23.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to reliability as one of the model’s defining strengths, alongside a trouble-free ownership experience and confidence in the vehicle over the long term. For used buyers, that usually means lower day-to-day worry and a better chance of avoiding unpleasant surprises as the kilometres add up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can afford to be selective without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 422 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,848 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $21,419 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,183 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become a bit softer, which can make the RAV4 easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you purchase at a strong price, you reduce your exposure to further depreciation. If you overpay, the recent trend shows there may be less cushion when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $26,571 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $21,419 CAD average.
• It adds bolder styling, a more upscale cabin, and more off-road character.

The bottom line:
You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the better value and a proven, practical SUV with strong owner approval. If you are willing to pay more for newer styling and a more distinctive feel, the 2019 is the better secondary path.
