How much does the 2018 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 14.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 510 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, smooth ride, and modern tech like CarPlay. The Rogue also fits well if you want a practical crossover with a roomy cabin and a strong value proposition, especially since it is described as a comfortable and affordable compact SUV with broad appeal in Canada.

With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you are shopping carefully.

Is the 2018 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centred on comfort, space, and useful everyday features. The expert review also frames the Rogue as a practical, easygoing crossover that is built around daily use and long-term convenience rather than flash.

If you are buying used, the main ownership risk is less about the cabin experience and more about making sure the vehicle has been maintained properly over time, especially given the model’s reputation for a less refined driving character.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Nissan Rogue?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the entry point and comes with a more basic cabin, while the SV adds more equipment and is described as the sweet spot in this market. Higher trims bring more upscale materials, and the SL Platinum is the fully loaded version with the most premium presentation.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.5-litre inline four-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, paired with an Xtronic CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard on the S and SV, while all-wheel drive is optional on those two trims and standard on the rest.
• Safety package: Nissan’s ProPilot Assist is the standout driver-assistance system, and the Rogue also includes blind-spot monitoring, Intelligent Trace Control, a rear-view camera, and available 360-degree Around View Monitor cameras. ProPilot Assist is only available on the SL, so lower trims miss out on that feature.
• Infotainment: The 2018 Rogue gets a redesigned infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a customizable home screen, and navigation that can show road curves. ProPilot Assist also ties into the instrument display when equipped.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 9.2 L/100 km city, 7.0 L/100 km highway, and 8.2 L/100 km combined for front-wheel-drive models, while all-wheel-drive models are rated at 9.7 L/100 km city, 7.4 L/100 km highway, and 8.7 L/100 km combined.

Which 2018 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2018 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, Midnight Edition, SL, SL Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry trim, and it gives you the Rogue’s core practicality at the lowest starting price. It suits you if you want the most affordable way into the model and do not need the extra convenience and premium touches found higher up.
• SV: This is the best-value trim because it sits in the sweet spot for pricing and equipment. It adds the kind of everyday comfort and convenience that makes the Rogue easier to live with, and it is the trim most shoppers should start with.
• Midnight Edition: This is an SV with a blacked-out look, so it is mainly for you if styling matters more than changing the Rogue’s underlying character.
• SL: This is the trim to choose if you want the most advanced technology, including ProPilot Assist. It is the right pick if you value the Rogue’s strongest safety and driver-assistance content over price.

The safety package is strongest on the SL, where ProPilot Assist is available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Nissan Rogue?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 510 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,413 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $14,413 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,834 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Rogue has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier for a future seller to attract interest if the vehicle is well kept. At the same time, the softer market means you should expect resale values to be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment level.

Because the Rogue has broad appeal as a roomy, comfortable, and affordable compact SUV, well-presented examples should still draw steady attention. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2018 Rogue earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA. It scored five-star ratings in side crash tests, while the front-impact crash tests scored three stars for the front passenger and four stars for the driver.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan’s standard safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring, Intelligent Trace Control, and a rear-view camera. The Rogue also offers a 360-degree Around View Monitor camera system on lower trims, and its standard auto-braking system earned a Superior rating from IIHS.

The main caveat is that the front-impact crash results are weaker than the side-impact results, so you should pay close attention to the vehicle’s safety equipment and trim level when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 Rogue adds automated driver assists that rival the best from luxury automakers.

The bottom line: If you want a used Rogue with strong comfort, space, and technology, the 2018 model is an appealing choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, nearby model years may still be worth comparing, but the 2018 stands out for its mix of value and advanced driver assistance.
