The current average of $26,820 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,984 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the vehicle more attractive to you as a buyer today. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

Should I buy a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.69% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest value play, the 2018 is worth a close look because pricing has come down and there are still enough listings to compare. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep an eye on the lower end of the range and be ready to move quickly when a well-kept example appears.
