Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 256 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,850 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $14,094 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,935 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today's average, you may have less immediate downside than someone who bought when prices were higher, but resale value will still depend on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a comfortable compact SUV with strong owner approval and a market that currently offers some pricing flexibility, the 2018 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a similar Sportage offers a lower entry price or a better deal on the exact features you want.
