The owner feedback also describes it as reliable, dependable, and a vehicle you can count on for daily commuting. For a used buyer, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding one that has been maintained properly over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda HR-V?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 132 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,137 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $18,188 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,521 CAD.

That price movement suggests the 2018 HR-V has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly entry point, but not so much that it looks weak in the used market. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation compared with paying closer to the top of the range. For a future seller, the key will be presenting a clean, well-maintained example with the kind of practicality shoppers still want in this segment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 HR-V is the better pick if you want a practical, comfortable, and well-liked used subcompact SUV with a more attractive price trend than last year. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you can also compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, price, and equipment.
