The owner feedback highlights reliability, dependability, and a car that many drivers feel comfortable counting on for everyday use. Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 646 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,483 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $16,483 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,550 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Because the current average is already at the low end of the year-round range, there may be less upside for short-term appreciation. Still, the Civic’s broad appeal should help support demand when you eventually decide to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,612 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $16,483 CAD average.
• It adds a broader body-style and powertrain mix.

The bottom line: Choose the 2018 if you want the stronger value play and are shopping with price discipline. Consider the 2019 if you are willing to pay more for a slightly newer model with broader configuration choice, but the 2018 is the better starting point for price-sensitive buyers.
