Should I buy a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a strong choice if you want an upscale-feeling full-size pickup with broad capability and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains the better path when you want a balance of owner satisfaction, feature content, and current value.
