Reviewers describe it as a car they can count on for everyday use, with comments that point to dependable ownership and trouble-free driving for many buyers. Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Focus?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 72 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.92% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,241 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Focus's resale value?

The current average of $11,241 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,696 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you’re buying now but less favourable if you’re planning to sell soon. If prices stay near this level, future resale values may remain relatively stable rather than rising sharply. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Focus or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest value play, the 2018 is the better starting point because pricing has come down and there are still some attractive listings to choose from. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep an eye out for the lowest-priced examples, but the 2018 already gives you a solid mix of affordability and owner approval.
